Why You Should Become a Member of the Land of Lincoln Purebred Livestock Breeders Association?
- The LLPLBA is your organization representing purebred livestock in Illinois. Presently, there are 15 equine; seven beef; six dairy; five swine; 10 sheep; two goat and one llama associations representing @ 3,300 members.
- Breeders benefit directly from these classes offered at the Illinois State Fair even if they do not show animals themselves due to the demand for eligible purebred livestock..
- With your support and cooperation – Illinois will continue to be a leading purebred breeding State. Our Illinois State Fair, County 4-H and FFA and Junior shows are consistently the best in the country.
- The requirements of participating animals in Land of Lincoln Breeders Award Classes help to increase the demand for purebred livestock
- Our objectives are well-defined. Our accomplishments have and will continue to benefit Purebred Livestock Breeders in Illinois.
Eligibility
Any Illinois Purebred livestock specie shown in classes during the Illinois State Fair:
- Must be maintained in the State of Illinois; provided, however, that such animals shall be permitted out of state for a maximum period of 90 days for the purpose of showings and exhibitions or embryo transplants.
- Must be animals which are Illinois bred, born and solely owned and exhibited by residents of the State of Illinois shall be eligible to participate in such contests and exhibitions.
- Must either be registered or certified by its national breed association proving that it was bred and born in Illinois. Double registered animals will be allowed to show in only one breed.
